She looked closer. Things got weird.
Lamont Mercantile and Spot the Twat® were born from curiosity, a slightly inappropriate sense of humor, and the belief that life is a whole lot better when you don’t take every damn thing so seriously.
I’m a mother, creator, survivor, observer, and professional noticer of things that probably weren’t meant to be noticed.
I love the details, the tiny absurdities hiding in plain sight, the ridiculous moments happening in the background, and the things you only catch when you stop, look again, and think:
Wait…did I just see that?
That’s the spirit behind Spot the Twat®: An Adventure in Discovery.
What started as an idea became a collection of wildly detailed scenes filled with satire, adult humor, cultural observations, visual mischief, and plenty of things you probably won’t find on the first look.
But this isn’t just about finding what’s hidden in a picture.
It’s about looking closer.
At art.
At culture.
At each other.
At the absurdity around us.
And occasionally, at ourselves.
I’ve learned that life can be beautiful, messy, unfair, hilarious, heartbreaking, and completely ridiculous, sometimes all before lunch.
So I choose to keep creating.
I choose curiosity.
I choose laughter.
And whenever possible, I choose a little mischief.
Lamont Mercantile is where all of that lands: books, art, ideas, and things you can wear when you’re feeling particularly unapologetic.
Welcome to my strange little corner of the world.
Look closer.
You never know what you’ll spot.
